As the needs of Rhode Islanders receiving long term care services continue to evolve, so does the Alliance. In addition to sustaining our longstanding programs and services, we are excited to expand our impact through newer initiatives such as the Friendly Visitors Program and the Sweet Acts Program.   Brings students and nursing home residents together through meaningful activities that foster connection, understanding, and mutual respect. These relationships help reduce isolation while creating enriching experiences across generations.

  Helps reduce social isolation among nursing home residents through companionship, meaningful social connection, and volunteer visits that foster a sense of belonging and well-being.

• Sweet Acts Program – Catherine Gergora Memorial Fund
  

  Helps provide everyday necessities for residents who might otherwise go without. Whether it is personal care items, clothing, or other essential needs, the fund supports dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

• RI State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
  Advocates for residents and families navigating long term care concerns, helping ensure that resident rights are protected and voices are heard. As the only program in Rhode Island solely dedicated to representing the interests and wishes of long term care residents, Ombudsmen provide information, support, and assistance to promote dignity, choice, and quality of life.
